Explore Red Cliffs Desert Reserve

This incredible natural area offers miles of scenic hiking trails through red rock formations, desert landscapes, and beautiful vistas — and it’s free to access! There are also a number of other free trails around the St. George area that don't requite a park entrance fee. A few to consider: Vortex Trail, Elephant Arch, and Aspiration Trail.

Visit a Local Park

Known as “Dixie Rock,” Pioneer Park is a favorite local spot for climbing on the red rocks, hiking short trails, and enjoying panoramic views of the city and surrounding cliffs. For those looking for the biggest playground in St. George, check out Thunder Junction All Abilities Park, a dinosaur-themed park complete with a train ride, splash pad, climbing wall, and a fantastic playground that is wheelchair accessible.

Hike Snow Canyon State Park

For just a small entry fee ($10 per vehicle for Utah residents/$15 per vehicle for non-residents), you can explore Snow Canyon State Park, one of the area’s hidden gems. Hike among towering sandstone cliffs, lava tubes, and petrified sand dunes, and prepared to be amazed by the views at this local State Park!

Stroll Downtown St. George

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring historic downtown St. George. Browse local shops, art galleries, and the St. George Children’s Museum. While you’re downtown, we highly recommend checking out Judd’s Store, open since 1911 and a local favorite! You can purchase old-fashioned candy and sodas, as well as other foods such as soups, sandwiches, and ice cream! The store is located right across the street from Town Square Park, which is another free attraction worth checking out!

St. George also hosts several free events and festivals throughout the year.

Visit Zion National Park

Zion National Park is just under an hour away and offers a full day of breathtaking scenery for the price of a park pass (which is valid for 7 days). Bring a picnic lunch to save even more!

Play Pickleball

Many of our vacation rental resorts offer pickleball on-site, but if you’re looking for a truly incredible place to play, check out The Fields at Little Valley, which has 24 pickleball courts, plus two playgrounds with a splash pad, and a covered pavilion.
