5 Things to Do in St. George Utah for First-Time Visitors

1. Explore Zion National Park

The Zion National Park is a canyon that has more than 147,000 acres of parkland. The sandstone mountains here are breathtaking, and you can enjoy a variety of activities while you explore! Go for a hike, go horseback riding, or try rock climbing. One of the most popular hikes in the park is Angels Landing, which has an incredible viewpoint looking over the canyon. It’s a 5.4 mile hike that can be challenging because of its elevation gain and narrow ridges, but the views make every step worth it.

2. Motorsports

For more fun outdoors, try some of the motorsports in St. George Utah! You can schedule an ATV or Jeep tour with UTV Adventure Tours, or bring your own ride and explore the trails for yourself! While there are a number of popular ATV trails throughout the area, one activity you don’t want to miss is riding in the sand dunes. Sand Mountain has 15,000 acres of perfectly sculpted dunes, and 6,000 acres are available for OHV use. The sand areas are divided by rock formations in the upper areas, and there are some desert routes where you can get more mileage! It’s a thrilling adventure that allows you to have fun and enjoy the beauty of St. George at the same time.

3. Go Golfing

4. Visit Tuacahn Amphitheatre

The Tuacahn Amphitheatre offers an exciting outdoor experience for visitors to enjoy! It’s tucked in the canyons of Snow Canyon State Park, and is home to a number of Broadway shows, concerts and events year round. This theater has shows that the whole family will love. Not only can you see shows here, but the Tuacahn Amphitheatre is home to a Saturday Market where you can find local artwork, crafts, food and free entertainment. There’s something different every Saturday! There is also a cafe where you’ll find a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups and more.

5. Enjoy Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park is fun for the whole family. There’s something for everyone at this red rock playground! While there’s no actual playground equipment, there are endless opportunities for fun. One of the most popular features of the park is Dixie Rock. The formation offers 360-degree views of the area and is a great spot to catch a sunrise or sunset. You’ll also want to pay a visit to the Arch while you’re at Pioneer Park. It’s a red rock arch that you can climb on and take pictures of the gorgeous views. Other parts of the park you’ll love to explore are Boy Scout Cave, the Crack and the Cavern.
